Appeal for Donations Toward the Construction of a Memorial for Wasao
On June 8, 2020, Wasao, a popular dog in Ajigasawa Town, Aomori Prefecture, passed away.
Together with his late owner, Setsuko Kikuya, Wasao had many fans in Japan and overseas, and to say his adventures and popularity were a social phenomenon would be no understatement.
As a result, Ajigasawa became well known as the town where Wasao lived. Many people came to visit him and were comforted and cheered up by him. We would like to construct and erect a symbolic monument to Wasao to continue to honor and pass down his life story and serve as a place for many people to remember him.
